How to Use

Why You Should Use This Product: Algae Guard+ Ultra is an algaecide and bactericide designed for pools, spas, and hot tubs. It controls algae growth, suppresses odor‑causing bacteria, and helps reduce overall chlorine use when applied as directed.

Before Use: This product contains copper. Test pool or spa water and maintain proper balance before application. Keep the pump running while adding this product. Do not apply in a way that allows contact with people or pets.

For Pools

Algae Control: For visible algae or active algae growth, apply 2 fl oz of this product per 1,000 gallons of pool water.

Algae Prevention: Before visible algae appears, apply 1 fl oz of this product per 1,000 gallons of pool water. Repeat once per month to maintain control.

Application may be made throughout the year, but best results are achieved when applied in late spring or early summer as algae first appears.

For Spas and Hot Tubs

Apply 6 mL of this product per 100 gallons of water using the supplied measuring cup. This will produce approximately 0.9 ppm metallic copper.

Test copper levels every 14 days using a standard copper test kit. Add additional product as needed to maintain copper levels up to 0.9 ppm. Do not exceed 1.0 ppm metallic copper.

Visible Algae & Water Conditions

Dosage requirements may vary depending on algae species, water hardness, water temperature, and the amount of algae present.

Higher dosages may be required in colder water, higher algae concentrations, or harder water conditions.
