The problem

Poor filtration, visible algae growth, high pH or total alkalinity are all factors that may be responsible for cloudy water. We have listed below specific solutions for each cause to help you treat your spa.

Recommended solutions

High pH and/or high total alkalinity:
- Use HTH spa™ pH Down to lower total alkalinity and/or pH to desired levels.
- Oxidize with HTH spa™ Non-Chlorine Oxidizer.

Visible algae growth: Adjust pH in the range of 7.2 - 7.6 (chlorine sanitizers) or 7.2 - 7.8 (bromine sanitizers).

Poor filtration:
- Check to make the filtration system is operating properly.
- Add HTH spa™ Clarifier to help the filter remove fine suspended particles.
- Clean the filter with HTH spa™ Cartridge Filter Cleaner.
