How to Use

Why You Should Use This Product: This powerful cleaner removes oils, dirt, and buildup from all filter types to help restore filtration efficiency, improve water clarity, and extend filter life.

Before Use: Turn off the pump and relieve filter pressure according to the filter manufacturer’s instructions.

Directions for Use as Filter Cleaner

For Cartridge and Removable D.E. Elements:

1. Remove filter elements and rinse thoroughly with clear water.
2. Prepare a solution by adding 1 bottle of filter cleaner to 5 gallons of warm water in a large plastic bucket. Prepare enough solution to fully cover filter elements.
3. Soak filter elements in the cleaning solution for 12–16 hours. Heavily soiled elements may be soaked up to 36 hours.
4. Rinse filter elements thoroughly with clean water.
5. Allow filter elements to dry before reinstalling or storing.

Directions for Use as Filter Cleaner for Sand Filters

Option 1: Adding Directly Through Filter Lid

1. Backwash the filter for approximately 1 minute. Move valve to the closed position and drain filter.
2. Add 1 bottle of filter cleaner for sand filters up to 2 feet in diameter, or 2 bottles for larger filters.
3. Add the product directly into the filter tank.
4. Follow the flushing procedure outlined below.

Option 2: Adding Through Pool Skimmer

1. Backwash the filter, then shut the pump off. Drain the filter.
2. Move valve to the backwash position and turn the pump on.
3. Slowly add filter cleaner into the skimmer with the pump running.
4. Continue adding cleaner until product begins to come out of the backwash port.
5. Shut pump off and let solution soak for 12 hours or overnight.
6. Backwash filter until water runs clear and no foam is visible.
7. Rinse for approximately 30 seconds, then return system to normal operation.

Directions for Use as Backwash Aid

For Sand and D.E. Filters:

1. Turn off the pump and set valve to backwash position.
2. Turn pump on and slowly add filter cleaner to the skimmer.
3. Use 1 bottle for filters up to 2 feet in diameter or 2 bottles for larger filters.
4. Backwash until water is clear and foam is no longer visible.

Note: Do not discharge backwash water into lakes, streams, or ponds.

First Aid

If in eyes, rinse slowly and gently with water for 15–20 minutes and seek medical advice if irritation persists.

If on skin or clothing, remove contaminated clothing and rinse skin thoroughly with water.

If swallowed or inhaled, contact a poison control center or medical professional immediately.

Storage and Disposal

Keep product in its original, tightly closed container when not in use.

Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight.

Use entire contents when possible. Triple rinse empty container and dispose of in accordance with state and local regulations.

Do not reuse empty container.
