How to Use

Before Use

Charge the vacuum fully before the first use. Turn the vacuum off and hold it vertically to drain water for several minutes before opening the charging port.

Application Instructions

  1. Attach the handle by pressing the spring button and sliding it into the back of the main body. To use the pole instead, press the elastic buckle on the expansion pipe connector and fit it into the pole.
  2. Rotate the lock catch toward OPEN to extend the aluminum pole, then rotate toward LOCK to hold the length.
  3. Check that the filter box lock is fully closed before use.
  4. Fit the floor brush into the filter box and confirm the buckle is fully seated so it cannot fall off during use.
  5. Flip the ON/OFF switch to ON until it clicks.
  6. Submerge the vacuum completely, including the indicator light and the water intake port.
  7. Brush and vacuum the pool floor with the floor brush attached. For larger debris, remove the floor brush and vacuum directly.

Indicator Lights

  • Blue, steady: normal operation.
  • Blue, flashing: battery low.
  • Red: power almost gone, the vacuum shuts down when the battery is empty.

How to Clean the Filter

  1. Flip the ON/OFF switch to OFF, turn the filter box lock toward the main body and pull the main body free.
  2. Remove the filter component, press the handle in the direction of the arrow and release the filter cover lock. Keep the cover facing upward so debris does not fall out.
  3. Empty the debris and rinse the filter frame and cover with clean water. Do not use sharp or hard objects on the filter frame.
  4. Snap the filter cover back onto the filter rack until it clicks, watching the assembly direction.
  5. Fit the main body back onto the dust box and lock it tightly.

Routine Maintenance

Rinse the vacuum with fresh water after every use to prevent chemical damage, and do not use detergent. Clean the filter after every use. Dry the body and accessories with a cloth and store indoors at room temperature. Recharge the battery at least once every three months if the vacuum is not in frequent use.

Specifications

Product Overview

The HTH™ Cordless Handheld Pool & Spa Vacuum is a rechargeable handheld cleaner for routine pool and spa maintenance. It collects debris from floors and seats and is not a surface skimmer.
It runs on a rechargeable lithium polymer battery and works with either the handheld grip or the included telescopic aluminum pole. Using it in place of draining saves water and reduces chemical consumption.

Safety, Storage, and Disposal

Safety and Care

This is not a toy. Keep it away from children and let only an adult assemble and operate it. Do not use the vacuum if any part is damaged. The vacuum creates suction. Keep hair, fingers and loose clothing away from the openings. Do not use the vacuum while anyone is in the pool. Do not use it without a filter, and replace the filter if it is damaged. Avoid picking up large, hard or sharp objects. Do not vacuum corrosive liquids, toxic substances or flammable liquids such as gasoline. Do not use the vacuum on or near hot surfaces. Turn the vacuum off and unplug the charger before cleaning, filter replacement or maintenance. Do not charge the vacuum with wet hands or bare feet. Do not use an extension cord. The lithium polymer battery is not user replaceable. Do not disassemble the main body. Take extra care when cleaning steps.

Storage

Never leave the vacuum in the water when it is off or out of battery power. Never leave the vacuum plugged in for long-term storage. Keep it out of sunlight, heat, rain, high moisture and contact with pool chemicals. Charge it fully before long-term storage and store at room temperature. The battery self-discharges in storage, so recharge before using it again.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the HTH™ Cordless Handheld Pool & Spa Vacuum designed to clean?

Floors and seats in your pool or spa. The HTH™ Cordless Handheld Pool & Spa Vacuum picks up settled debris, so use it for routine maintenance rather than dirt that has built up over a long stretch. This hot tub vacuum is not a surface skimmer, and it is not built for large, hard or sharp objects.

  • Can I use the HTH™ Cordless Handheld Pool & Spa Vacuum while someone is in the pool or spa?

Wait until everyone is out. The HTH™ Cordless Handheld Pool & Spa Vacuum creates suction, so keep hair, fingers and loose clothing away from the openings while it runs. Take extra care around steps.

  • How do you store the HTH™ Cordless Handheld Pool & Spa Vacuum for the winter?

Rinse the spa vacuum with fresh water after every use, and skip the detergent. Dry the body and accessories with a cloth, then store it indoors at room temperature, away from sunlight, heat, rain and pool chemicals. Never leave the rechargeable pool vacuum sitting in the water or plugged in. Charge it fully before you put it away for the season, and top it off at least once every three months.

  • When should I replace the filter on the pool and spa vacuum?

The HTH™ Replacement Filter for the Cordless Handheld Pool & Spa Vacuum is built to this vacuum's suction spec, not adapted from a universal size. It seats correctly the first time, with no trimming and no gaps for debris to slip past. Aftermarket filters vary in media and fit, and a loose one lets debris bypass the filter entirely. Rinse the spa vac filter under a hose after each clean and put it straight back in. Replace it when fine sand stays lodged in the media and rinsing stops bringing suction back, or any time the filter is damaged. Never run the vacuum without one.

  • Why is the hot tub vacuum not turning on?

Two things. Make sure the ON/OFF switch on the handheld pool vacuum is toggled fully into position until it clicks. Then shine a flashlight into the water outlet and look for anything caught in the impeller. If neither is the cause, the battery pack may need factory service.

  • Why is there no suction in the handheld pool vacuum?

The HTH™ Cordless Handheld Pool & Spa Vacuum needs to be fully underwater to pull suction. Submerge the whole body, including the indicator light and the water intake port. If the pool vacuum is fully under and still not pulling, check the brush suction opening for a large object blocking it.

  • Why does the spa vacuum smell?

Give the filter rack and dust box a clean. Debris left sitting is the usual cause. If the handheld pool vacuum is new, a faint plastic smell is normal and fades once it airs out.

  • What does it mean when the indicator light on the pool vacuum is off?

First confirm the spa vacuum is switched on, then watch for the light at startup. Blue means you are good to go. If the light still does not come on, charge the HTH™ Cordless Handheld Pool & Spa Vacuum for no more than two hours and check again.

  • Why does the cordless pool vacuum shut off while cleaning?

That is the automatic shutdown protection doing its job. The cordless pool vacuum turns itself off when it is not fully submerged. Keep the whole body underwater, including the indicator light and the water intake port, and it will keep running.

  • How do you get sand out of a hot tub?

Vacuum it out. Sand settles into the footwell and along the seats where a skimmer never reaches, and draining the tub costs you a full fill of water and a full round of chemicals. Use the HTH™ Cordless Handheld Pool & Spa Vacuum with the floor brush attached. Submerge the whole hot tub vacuum, including the indicator light and the water intake port, then work slowly across the floor and along each seat. The brush lifts settled sand and the filter captures it, so you can clean a hot tub without draining it. Empty and rinse the filter when you finish.
